Interviewed by a friend

Hey readers, I read on some other blogs about being interviewed, and one of the writers I responded to decided to take a look into my feeble mind and sent some questions. Thank you Mrs. Nuggie...I hope the view inside doesn't make you run away screaming and trying to gouge your eyes out. lol

Here are the questions posed to me:

1. Brittany Spears or Jessica Simpson?

Well, I don't really know much about Jessica Simpson, but I can tell ya this...I've seen Brittany nekkid and don't want none o' that. Besides, she seems really screwed up in the head...I got enough of that for both of us. If the question was open to all celebreties, I think I would probably choose either the brunette from "Little Big Town" or the brunette from "SheDaisy" (I think Kassidy is her name, but since I can't think of the 3rd name right now, I'm not sure).

2. What's the weirdest thing you've put in your smoker?

Hmm, if I'm gonna eat it, I don't really consider anything weird, but one combination that I would have never thought of on my own, was a 6-pack of "chicken rolls". They're a boneless/skinless chicken breast wrapped around some ham and cheese, all wrapped up in bacon.

3. What is your dream car?

Well, right now it'd be a black Dodge Mega-Cab pickup. If I weighed a lot less and took up less space, I could probably see myself in something like a Corvette.

4. What is your favorite race track?

I like the Kansas Speedway because it's close and I've been there (actually even going again this weekend). For local level racing, I like the Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa. And my favorite for watching on TV would be either Talladega or Daytona.

5. Why is your favorite driver not making the races this year?

I suppose since a lot of other driver's fans are so scared of what he can do behind the wheel that they're bashing him (mainly at Racingstalkers.com) and enjoying seeing him on the sidelines, I'd say that one of them planted the fuel additive at Daytona, causing his crew chief and another guy to be suspended from the tracks indefinately, and are now somehow getting him to over drive the car in qualifying, resulting in a slower lap time.

Well, that about does it for my interview. Are you feeling a little brave? Would you like to open up some of your life to your readers? Here's what ya gotta do to play this game:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Thanks and enjoy!

Good Day, I think

Good evening readers. Couple of times I was a bit worried what was happening, but I think I had a pretty good overall day. This morning I was checking my lottery tickets from the last 3 drawings and found that I had $16 worth of winners. Then, on my daily sales call, we were listening to the radio when they had a call in trivia question deal, where I scored a pair of tickets to next weekend's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race and IRL race at Kansas Speedway.

One of the things that got my heart pumpin' in a not as good way, was when I went to pick up my tickets that I won and run some other errands. I was leaving the store from one of my stops and hear a bunch of sirens. Since I had left my radio in my truck, not expecting anything to happen in the short time I was going to be in the store, I had to call Dad, who was back here with the scanner and have him fill me in on what was going on. It happened to be a car vs. train accident in a little town West of the one I was in. Only word I have on patient condition is what was on a news website...2 people seriously injured and taken to larger hospitals by helicopter.

Earlier this week, Monday I believe, I read about an area family that was killed in a plane crash in Missouri. I knew the father/husband by name only, as he owns/owned property here in town when I was doing the utility billing, and only talked with him on the phone once. Still kind of a shocker.

I also wish to extend my prayers and sympathy to all affected by the recent shootings at Virginia Tech. Not much I can say about it, besides...damn.

Hmm, how did this post take that turn? I wanted it to be upbeat and I spend more time talking about serious injuries and death than why I really started this entry.

Oh well, even with that downer, I'm still looking forward to next weekend's trip to Kansas City, KS for some tailgating and letting my buddies use the race tickets.

Have a good day.

Hello

Sorry I haven't posted for a while again...got out of the groove and now I just can't settle back into it. Had thought of a great blog subject Thursday or Friday night, but unfortunately lost it 10 minutes later.

Good tasting food has still been coming out of the smoker...did a 3#ish pork loin and a 3#ish turkey breast roll Sunday. Next week's project has been curing since Thursday night and should be ready for smoke Saturday, and consumption Sunday. It's another 3#ish pork loin with "Buckboard Bacon" cure on it. Also have a couple racks of ribs that may accidently find their way into the smoker, possibly on Sunday.

Health wise, I think I'm feeling pretty good, but my leg is leaking a lot of fluid again, even though I've been taking my antibiotics regularly. Not really sure what's going on there. But, I guess as long as the Advil and Bactine keep the overnight sting to an absolute minimum, I can live with the soaked bandages for a while.

That's about all I have for ya today, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Take care.
